Dominick 'Big Trin' Trinchera was a capo of the Bonnano Crime Family. He was born in New York to an Italian father (1913 - 1990) who immigrated from Rome and an American mother (1913 - 1980). When Carmine Galante was killed in Brooklyn (Where Trinchera also had a hand in), Phillip 'Rusty' Rastelli took over as boss of the Bonanno family. But three renegade capo's openly began to question Rastelli's leadership and were plotting to overthrow him. The three capo's were, himself, Alphonse 'Sonny Red' Indelicato and Phillip Giaccone (1932 - 1981). 'Rusty' Rastelli heared about there plans and had the three men wiped out in a hit arranged by future boss Joseph "Big Joe" Massino. Salvatore Vitale, brother-in-law of Joe Massino was the lead gunman in the plot. Another gunman was Vito Rizzuto, who was identified as boss of the Montreal Family which is part of the Bonanno's. It unfolded at a social club in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn.

Lefty Ruggiero would tell about the murder against Joseph Pistone during his undercover years as Donnie Brasco.
"I couldn't move him," said Ruggiero. "Boobie could. Trin (Dominick Trinchera) was all cut open and bleeding. There was little pieces lying around from the shotgun (blast) Boobie got blood all over him trying to pick him up. I couldn't believe how strong Boobie is. He don't look it. But I was amazed. Boobie could move him. Then they cut him up and put him in green plastic garbage bags"
